QUALIFICATIONS:

Essential:

  1. Ph.D. in chemistry preferred; M.S. considered
  2. Commitment to quality teaching
  3. Demonstrated potential for directing undergraduate research
  4. Ability to work effectively with administration, faculty, staff, and students from varied socio-economic/ethnic backgrounds

Desired:

  1. Successful teaching in a small, regional university setting
  2. Successful experience in directing undergraduate research
  3. Successful experience in advising students in chemistry and/or health related fields
  4. Experience and interest in computer technologies and instruction

FUNCTIONS:

  1. Teach courses in general and inorganic chemistry from freshman through senior level and direct undergraduate research
  2. Fulfill other duties expected of a faculty member, such as student advising, committee assignments, departmental recruitment and retention activities, research, public service, etc.
  3. Perform other specific duties as assigned by Department Chairperson and/or Dean

  2. Candidates invited for interviews are required to present a 20-30 minute lecture/lesson in the teaching area.
